Abstract

|
본 연구는 일 대학 병원 간호사의 영성과 임종간호태도의 관계에서 공감역량의 매개효과를 파악하기 위해 시도된 서술적 조사연구이다. 연구 대상자는 W시에 소재한 Y대학 병원 병동중환자실 응급실 간호사 172명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구도구로 영성은 Howden(1992)의 영성 척도와 오복자와 강경아(2000)의 영성 척도를 수정 보완한 영성 척도(박현준, 2003)를 사용하였으며 공감역량은 이영진 (2014)이 개발한 도구를 사용하였고 임종간호태도는 Frommelt(1991)의 ‘Frommelt Attitudes toward Care of the Dying Scale(FATCOD)’를 번안한 조혜진과 김은심(2005)의 ‘임종간호태도’ 도구를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료 분석은 서술적 통계와 차이검정, 일워분산분석, 사후분석, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석을 사용하여 분석하였다. 다중회귀분석을 통한 매개효과 분석 결과 수직적 영성과 임종간호태도의 관계에서 공감역량이 완전매개효과가 있었으나 수형적 영성은 매개효과가 없는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구에서는 영성, 공감역량, 임종간호태도에서의 상관관계뿐 아니라 영성과 임종간호태도의 관계에서 공감역량의 완전매개효과가 있는 것으로 규명되어 간호사의 공감역량 증진이 영성을 향상시키고 임종간호태도를 긍정적으로 향상시키는데 중요함을 알 수 있었다.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the mediating effect of compassionate competence on the relationship between nurses’ spirituality and attitude toward care of dying patients.
Methods: A cross-sectional correlational research design was conducted. The total subjects were 172 nurses at one general hospital in Gangwon-do. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires and analyzed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe’s test, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis.
Results: Compassionate competence showed the mediating effect (β=.198, p=.025) on the relationship between nurses’ vertical spirituality and attitudes toward care of dying patients. However, no mediating effect of compassionate competence on the relationship between nurses’ horizontal spirituality and attitudes toward care of dying patients was found.
Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, development of training programs with a focus on spirituality and compassionate competence was highly recommended to improve and maintain nurses’ positive attitudes toward caring of the dying patients.
